Born in 1996 in Brussels, Belgium, Camille Holdermann studied drawing both in ENSAV la Cambre and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He currently works as an art teacher and is also active in the sociocultural sector.
In his artworks, he questionnes a variety of topics such as our relationship to nature or to the divine.
Plants, for example, are recuring in his work, taking various roles beyond their ornamental function. Serving both to camouflage but also to protect, they embody to him the very essence of life, generating a form of hybridization through their close relationship and similarities with the individual.
Mainly inspired by environnements and people he encounters, Camille creates through a slow and meticulous process complex drawings, blurring the lines between dream and reality.
He creates, on the other hand colorful illustrations of animals and surrealistical subjects matters.
The mediums he commonly uses are colored pencil, watercolor but also gouache, ink and paper cutting technics.
