Camille Holdermann
Soft drawings for tender souls
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Based in Brussels (Belgium), Camille Holdermann — also known as El Garçon Fleur — is an artist, illustrator, and teacher. Through this hybrid figure, half-man and half-plant, he unfolds an allegorical, soft, and poetic universe
.Inspired by his encounters and the world around him, he composes colorful realms where emotions and the rhythm of life intertwine, blurring the lines between reality and the imaginary. His work explores themes such as vulnerability, masculinity, identity, and dreams, while giving a central place to the world of childhood.
In his illustrations, the presence of fauna and flora becomes the meeting point of a sensitive nostalgia, where the connection to nature joins that of the divine and the mystical.
Nourished by the lines of Art Nouveau and the onirism of Surrealism, his approach places ornament and plant life at the heart of the composition. Far from being mere decoration, these elements become protective and healing presences, in total symbiosis with the subject.
This dialogue between form and color rhythms his works, which are created using mediums such as colored pencil, watercolor, gouache, or even the technique of paper cutting.
